Cortney Mauldin began his career in Mortgage Banking in 2003 when he joined Love Funding’s St. Louis office as a Loan Production Specialist and was later promoted to Deputy Chief Underwriter. Currently, he serves as Senior Vice President – Chief Underwriter. In this role, Mr. Mauldin sits on the Love Funding loan committee and is responsible for the complete oversight and quality control of all underwriting functions related to FHA insured transactions. He oversees the entire FHA underwriting and processing staff for all Love Funding offices, and is responsible for the continued controlled expansion of the FHA underwriting department.
Over the course of his eight years with Love Funding, he has developed a high level of expertise with each of HUD’s FHA insurance programs. In October of 2008 he was recognized by HUD as a MAP Approved underwriter for all Multifamily and Senior Housing programs. In January of 2010 he was recognized by HUD as a LEAN approved underwriter for all Section 232 programs. Mr. Mauldin has been the HUD approved underwriter on over 60 FHA transactions that have closed, totaling over $400 million.
Mr. Mauldin holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics with a minor in Economics and Psychology from DePauw University. Prior to joining Love Funding, he worked as a financial analyst for technology firms in Indiana, Maryland, and Washington DC.
