Ms. Latoria A. Thompson has worked for more than 14 years in commercial real estate, finance/accounting, and healthcare in various capacities. She has over 8 years experience in commercial, multifamily, and healthcare underwriting. Directly prior to joining Love Funding, Ms. Thompson was Director of Real Estate and Finance at RLJ Development overseeing hotel acquisitions and debt management for a multi-billion-dollar hotel real estate portfolio.
From 2003 to 2008, Ms. Thompson was Vice President/ Loan Officer at Merrill Lynch Capital in the Healthcare Finance Division underwriting commercial real estate loans specifically for the senior housing industry. She underwrote more than $1.1 billion in deal volume for a total of 140 assets, including 12 independent living facilities, 112 assisted living facilities, 4 combined independent and assisted living facilities, 10 skilled nursing facilities, and 2 continuing care retirement communities (CCRCs). Prior to her experience at Merrill Lynch Capital, Ms. Thompson was Manager of Financial Reporting and Controls at Marriott Senior Living Services where she managed the corporate-level financial reporting for 150 senior living communities. Ms. Thompson had been an Experienced Senior Accountant for Arthur Andersen LLP with significant focus on auditing hospitals and healthcare systems, along with government agencies and non-profit corporations.
Ms. Thompson received a Master of Science in Accounting and a Bachelor of Science in Commerce from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia in 1997 and 1996, respectively.
