Mr. Camps joined Love Funding’s Washington, D.C., office in March 1999 and has served in numerous capacities since joining the company. Currently, Mr. Camps serves as senior vice president – managing director of production and is a member of the Executive Management team at Love Funding. Mr. Camps is responsible for the development and performance of all sales activities for the company. Additionally, he acts as a liaison between the origination staff and the underwriting department by working closely with the chief underwriter to ensure efficient movement of transactions through the pipeline. Mr. Camps is also an active member of Love Funding’s loan committee.
Mr. Camps has fifteen years of real estate finance experience, twelve of which have been focused on providing financing for multifamily and healthcare properties. Prior to his current position, Mr. Camps served as Love Funding’s chief underwriter for five years. He has overseen 245 FHA transactions that have closed totaling $1.6 billion, and has underwritten over 80 FHA insured transactions that have closed, totaling over $550 million. His experience is evenly weighted between multifamily and healthcare.
Mr. Camps holds a Bachelor of Science degree in finance from the University of Maryland and an associate degree in business administration from Montgomery College. He has been a MAP multifamily and 232 approved underwriter since December 2003 and received LEAN approval in 2008. Mr. Camps is currently president of the Eastern Lenders Association, an organization for which he has served as a board member for six years. He was recently appointed to serve a second consecutive term on the Mortgage Bankers Association Multifamily Steering Committee.
