Mr. Schilling joined Love Funding’s New York office in 2007 as an investment analyst and has previously held the position of underwriter. As an underwriter, he successfully obtained mortgage commitments for many multifamily loan refinance transactions that closed through the HUD 223(f) and 223(a)(7) programs. He has continued this success as director of loan originations, where he is responsible for originating FHA loans for multifamily and healthcare facilities.
Mr. Schilling spent over six years with Citigroup’s consumer bank in New York with the majority of the time spent in the credit risk management department. As vice president, he held various roles, including managing a team responsible for the forecasting of portfolio-wide consumer risk behavior based on labor market conditions and other macroeconomic indicators. In his prior experience at CitiBank, Mr. Schilling managed a team that developed analytic risk sensitivity models to underwrite incremental debt capacity for existing Travel and Affluent card accounts, an $800 million business. In 2004, he received the Chairman’s Leadership Award, CitiBank’s highest individual award.
Mr. Schilling also joined Love Funding with experience in affordable housing development, which he gained in his role as the initiative finance director for the Earth Pledge Foundation in New York City. There, he developed a viable financial model to build 100 green roofs on mostly 9% LIHTC projects across 16 cities nationwide, and helped to acquire $4 million in related grant funding. Mr. Schilling is a 1998 graduate of Kenyon College with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics, and holds a master’s degree in economics from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
