Mr. Hunt joined Love Funding in 2011 as senior director to help the company extend its expertise with FHA multifamily and senior housing loan programs to the arena of hospital finance. He is responsible for originating loans through HUD’s Section 242 hospital mortgage insurance program, as well as coordinating the preparation and submission of potential loans to funding sources, facilitating the process from application to commitment and assisting in the closing of loans.
Before joining Love Funding, Mr. Hunt was a senior account executive at HUD’s Office of Healthcare Programs based in Kansas City, Kansas. During his 10-year tenure at the agency, he underwrote several hospital financing transactions valued at more than $1 billion, was a voting member of HUD’s credit committee and spoke widely on the 242 program before a variety of national and state organizations. In addition to loan underwriting, his responsibilities included marketing, contracting, and managing the assets of HUD’s $8 billion-plus portfolio of hospital loans.
Mr. Hunt has a Master of Public Health in health policy and management from Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University, and a bachelor’s degree in psychology, also from Emory.
