George McGovern

First Vice President — Director of Affordable Housing

Mr. McGovern joined Love Funding’s Cleveland office in 2004. As Director of Affordable Housing and President of LFC Securities, LLC, he is responsible for coordinating the affordable housing efforts at Love Funding and originating tax-exempt bond financings. Mr. McGovern has over 25 years of experience in developing and financing major capital projects including multifamily housing, retirement housing properties, and assisted living and long-term care facilities through the use of tax credits and tax-exempt bonds.

Before joining Love Funding, Mr. McGovern was associated with NatCity Investments (affiliate of National City Bank) as its Senior Vice President and Manager of Affordable Housing specializing in the structuring and underwriting of tax-exempt bond financings for multifamily, senior housing, nursing homes and mixed use facilities. Prior to that, Mr. McGovern acted as Acquisitions Director for the National Equity Fund (NEF). At NEF, he structured and financed low-income housing tax credit projects throughout the Midwest and southern United States.

Mr. McGovern has an MBA in finance from Cornell University in Ithaca, NY, and a BA in economics from the University of Rochester in Rochester, NY. He holds Series 7, 63 and 53 licenses. He is also a member of the Urban Land Institute.
