Jonathan S. Camps joined Love Funding in 1999 and has served in numerous capacities since joining the company. Currently, he serves as president and is primarily responsible for growing the company’s lending platforms, developing the corporate strategic plan, and providing sales and technical expertise to originators and underwriters. Additionally, he serves as a liaison between the origination staff and the underwriting department by working closely with the office of the chief underwriter to ensure efficient movement of transactions through the pipeline. He also oversees the marketing & research departments and is an active member of Love Funding’s loan committee.
Jon has more than nineteen years of real estate finance experience, seventeen of which have been focused on providing financing for multifamily and healthcare properties. Prior to his current position, he served as Love Funding’s chief underwriter for five years. He has overseen the underwriting for nearly 250 FHA transactions that have closed totaling $1.6 billion, and has personally underwritten over 85 FHA transactions that have closed, totaling over $650 million. His experience is evenly weighted between multifamily and healthcare.
Jon holds a Bachelor of Science degree in finance from the University of Maryland and an associate degree in business administration from Montgomery College. He has been a MAP approved underwriter since December 2003 and received his LEAN approval in 2008. He is a past president of the Eastern Lenders Association, an organization for which he served as a board member for seven years. In addition to the numerous subcommittees Jon serves on, he was recently appointed to serve a third consecutive term on the MBA Multifamily Steering Committee.
